Heart Light Meditation

  1. Settle In
    Close your eyes and relax. Allow your body to soften into stillness. You are in your body, here and now.

  2. Awareness of Breath
    Bring your attention to your breath.

    Thoughts are like passing clouds; they may come and go. Do not get carried away with them. Let them pass.

    Sounds are just sounds; they may arise and drop. Do not get carried away with them. Let them pass.

    In this manner, each time your mind wanders, kindly guide it back to your breath.

    (Getting carried away by thoughts or sounds is natural; be gentle and compassionate with yourself. Awareness begins the moment you notice you’ve drifted. Meditation is an active process of getting lost and returning, again and again, until thoughts no longer disturb you and a stillness takes root.)

  3. Breath Cleansing
    Begin breathing in white light, breathe out the black smoke.

    • Inhale: pure, radiant white light.

    • Exhale: release black smoke, and with it-release any heaviness or tension.
      Continue for 5-8 breaths, until all the black smoke dissolves and only white light remains.

    • Finally, breathe in the white light, breathe out the white light for 3 breaths.

  4. Heart Center Focus
    Shift your focus to your heart center. Visualize a gentle white or golden flame, candle, lamp, or radiant sun glowing within. Take a few moments to observe this light from the inner eye of your awareness.

  5. Sitting with the Light
    Rest with this light in your heart for 3-5 minutes, simply being present with it.

  6. Expanding the Light
    Allow the light to grow like the light of a thousand suns, filling your heart, then expanding outward:

    • To your lungs, arms, and throat

    • To your face, head, and belly

    • To your lower abdomen, legs, and down to your feet

    Feel yourself becoming a body of light.

  7. Union with Light
    Remember: Your true nature is light. You are one with this radiant presence.

    (Your true nature is light; pure, radiant, and whole. To be one with this presence is to remember you are never separate from Joy, peace, love, and clarity. These qualities are inherent already within you, yet we often seek them outside instead of looking within.)

  8. Release & Surrender
    Let go of any emotions, thoughts, or heaviness that no longer serve you. Offer them into the light.

    Repeat mentally:

    • I let go of any and all thoughts, feelings, emotions, memories, or situations that no longer serve me consciously or unconsciously, to the light.

    • I allow my light to fill the void created by this surrender.

    • I am light - in my body, mind, and heart. And so it is!

  9. Full Radiance
    Imagine your inner light glowing as bright as the sun at noon. This is you - pure light.

    Say to yourself- I am Light, I am Life, I am pure Consciousness.

    Stay with this feeling for as long as you need.

  10. Returning to the Room
    Gently bring your awareness back. Rub your palms together, feel the warmth, and place them softly over your eyes. When ready, open your eyes with a refreshed heart.

  11. Closing Blessing
    I thank the inner radiance within me, the forces that guide and protect me, and I receive the blessings of the highest light.

    And always remember, as my mother says:
    Keep your heart light. 🌸
