About
Ragini Ashok is an Indian abstract artist living in Ohio, known for her vibrant, mixed-media artwork.
Ragini employs the medium of art to engage people in a dialogue about the intrinsic balance between convergence and divergence within the self.
She defines divergence as the boundless wellspring of creative potential residing within each person. This inherent divergence finds its expression through her artistic process, where each new creation emerges purely from the inspiration of the moment. Consequently, every artwork takes on a wholly unique form distinct from its predecessor. Conversely, the concept of convergence, in Ragini's view, represents unity. The converging nature is symbolized as an underlying framework of unity upon which we all navigate life, whether we do so consciously or unconsciously, steering our paths according to our individual wills while interconnected within this greater unity.
Ragini sees her artistic practice as a means of promoting mental health, well-being, and a meditative understanding of the interconnectedness among all things and people. She aims to delve into the uncharted territories of the subconscious through her personal practice of meditation and her study of psychology, philosophy, and spirituality. Her goal is to integrate these insights into her creative process.
She describes her creative approach as follows: "Each of my artworks is born from a blank mind, guided by a deep awareness of the present moment. I embrace each moment with an open heart and allow it to flow without self-imposed limitations or doubt. This process unfolds one moment at a time, one line, one color, and sometimes several colors simultaneously, all converging to create something entirely born from the unknown, in the very moment it's happening. You could say I am a 'Momentary Artist,' crafting one moment at a time."
