  • I often say that my art isn’t something I merely create—it’s something I become. Each piece I paint is born from stillness, presence, and the transformation that shaped my life.

I was born in Hassan, Karnataka, India. My early life was marked by emotional dissonance—the loss of my father at a young age, and long years spent away from my mother for education. That separation instilled in me a longing I couldn't articulate back then—a quiet ache that kept me striving, constantly seeking approval and achievement. I wanted to be the ‘good’ child, the ‘smart’ one. I mistook external validation for love, never realizing that passion—true passion—comes from within.

Coming from a family of doctors and engineers, I naturally assumed that I, too, belonged to the world of science. I was endlessly curious, particularly drawn to diagrams and conceptual models. Creativity was always theresubtle, unrecognized, and quietly guiding me through the rigid frames of science.

I pursued Biotechnology Engineering, choosing it for its novelty and promise of innovation. Later, I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, to earn a Master’s in Food Technology, again drawn to the frontier of research and development. I envisioned a future in product innovation—creating something new, pushing boundaries. But slowly, I began to feel constricted, boxed in. Despite being in cutting-edge fields, I was only skimming the surface of what I truly longed to understand.

Something inside me was quietly discontent, whispering that there was more—something deeper, more aligned with the truth I couldn't name.

During my Master’s, I began painting as a hobby—just to express what I couldn’t say in words. When I painted, I felt free.

In 2020, as the world stood still during the pandemic, I turned inward. It was then that my real journey began—the journey of self-inquiry. Alone in a foreign country, I started questioning everything I had ever known. Who am I beyond my identity, my thoughts, my past? I peeled away layers of conditioning until I arrived at silence—the space of pure existence, the "I AM."

This profound inward turn didn't just lead to insights; it deepened my connection to the art I had tentatively begun exploring. The meditation wasn't separate from the painting; they began to merge. The purification of mind, as I experienced it, took many forms, but for me, it led straight to discovering who I truly wanted to be: free to express from that most sacred space of stillness – a space I sensed everyone possesses, connecting us all as if cut from the same fabric of consciousness.

    That’s when everything changed.

Though I had no guru/mentor, I found inner guidance whenever I needed it. I explored ancient philosophies. Yet, I came to understand that all reading is merely knowledge; true wisdom reveals itself only through practice and direct experience. As I dropped the fear-based values that once ruled my decisions, a stillness took root. From that stillness, art emerged—not as emotional outpouring, but as a meditative state.

This was the birth of Ragini Ashok Meditative Art (RAMA)—a fusion of stillness and creation. My art doesn’t arise from thought; it flows from presence.

Over the next five years, I surrendered to this calling. It wasn’t easy. Accepting that I wasn’t meant to walk the linear path I once worked so hard to stay on took courage. But what began as a side hobby became the heartbeat of my being. Painting in meditative awareness healed me, transformed me, and gave me a purpose beyond the intellect.

All the science, innovation, and philosophy I once sought could not fill the void that the intersection of Art and Meditation finally did. It brought not just answers—but integration.

Today, based in Ohio, I am fully immersed in creating from this sacred space. My bold, textured works invite stillness, self-inquiry, and connection. They are a mirror of the dance between chaos and calm, thought and silence, form and formlessness.

Art, for me, is not a product. It is a state of being. It is my devotion to truth, my rebellion against numbness, and my offering to those seeking peace in a fragmented world.

Through RAMA, I hope to remind people that when you truly embrace silence, you don’t lose yourself—you finally find who you are.

And when you meet yourself, you remember:

    I AM.

    I am not the pain.
    I am not the past.
I am not the fear, the success, the failure, or the title.

I AM the silence behind it all.

That is what my art celebrates. It’s not a canvas—it’s a mirror. A living, breathing invitation to come home to yourself.

  • There was a time in my life when everything felt chaotic—when my thoughts raced, my emotions felt overwhelming, and the world around me moved too fast. I searched for stillness, but it felt impossible to grasp. That’s when I turned to art—not as an escape, but as a way to listen.

I discovered that when I painted, something shifted. My mind quieted, my body softened, and my hands moved without force. The act of creating became a meditation—a space where I was fully present, completely free, and deeply connected.

This is what Ragini Ashok Meditative Art (RAMA)is about. It’s not just art. It’s a movement. A practice. A path.

In a world that pulls us in a thousand directions, RAMA serves as a visual anchor—a tool for self-awareness, emotional balance, and inner peace. Each painting carries the same stillness and mindfulness that I feel while creating it, offering you a space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

    But how does this work?

Because my art is created from a place of no-thought, no-force, no-control.

We are often told that creativity comes from thinking, from planning, from having a concept in mind. But true creation—like a true state of presence—happens when the mind steps aside and something deeper takes over.

When I paint, I do not impose an idea. I do not dictate what should happen next. Instead, I let go. I trust. My hands move as they are meant to, my colors blend as they wish to, and the art takes shape on its own.

This is creation without thought. Not emptiness, but fullness. Not randomness, but flow. A dance between me and the unknown.

And when you experience my art, you are stepping into that same space of surrender—where the mind rests, the heart opens, and something greater emerges.

You don’t just look at my paintings; you feel them. They meet you where you are and guide you to where you need to be. Whether you meditate with them, reflect in their presence, or simply let them exist in your space, they become a mirror—helping you see what words cannot express.

RAMA is not just about creating art; it’s about creating a living presence, waiting for you. In this state, you become fully aware of where you are, the thoughts passing through your mind, and whether they align with your true self. With this awareness, you have the choice—to observe, to shift, or simply to be still.

  • We live in a time of overstimulation. Our minds are filled with endless notifications, responsibilities, and expectations. We are taught to be productive, to be efficient and to be everything for everyone. But we are rarely taught about how to be still, how to listen and how to simply be.

I understand the weight of constant striving—the exhaustion of chasing, thinking, and doing. But I also know that true healing begins when we stop searching outward and start listening inward.

    This is why I create.

My purpose with RAMA is to offer a visual sanctuary—a space where the mind can slow down, emotions can be processed, and inner clarity can emerge.

Through my art, I focus on:

    • Supporting Emotional Well-BeingEach piece is created to be immersive, drawing you into a state of calm, helping you find balance in moments of stress.

    • Encouraging Mindfulness & PresenceMy art encourages you to pause, breathe, and fully experience the present moment, helping you break free from the noise and distractions.

    • Providing a Tool for Self-Discovery RAMA is more than just art; it’s a reflection of you. It guides you in setting intentions and connecting with your deeper self.

    • Bridging Art & Holistic Well-BeingMy work integrates creativity with meditation, self-awareness, and personal transformation, showing that healing is a continuous journey.

But my art is not just about healing; it’s about expanding into your most authentic self.

I work with two guiding forces in my creative process: Divergence and Convergence; they are two sides of the same coin.

Divergence is expansion. It is the boundless potential within each of us. It is the creative force that is limitless, free, and ever-evolving. It is the unknown—the space where anything is possible.

Convergence is unity. It is the interconnectedness that underlies everything. It is the pull toward stillness, balance, and oneness. It is the knowing that we are not separate but part of something much greater.

When I paint, I allow both of these forces to guide me. I do not control the process; I surrender to it. Each stroke, each color, each texture is a moment-by-moment unfolding—an expression of trust, of presence, of deep listening.

In a world that is waking up to holistic well-being, I use my art to express the unity that connects us all.

Through RAMA, I want to awaken something within you—a fearless, multidimensional spirit that embraces joy, stillness, creativity, and expansion.

    My art is an invitation.

Not to escape reality, but to see it more clearly. To find presence, transformation, and the quiet magic of every moment.

  • Most people think they need to meditate in silence or follow a strict spiritual practice to find inner peace. But peace is not foundit is created. You can create peace right now simply by engaging with something that brings you back to yourself.

Meditation is an active state of being in the present. To achieve this, one must cultivate awareness because awareness is the key to inner transformation. RAMA gently guides you toward this state, passively encouraging you to embrace presence and peace with every glance.

That is what RAMA does. It is not just art for your wallsit is art for your soul.

If you have ever felt overwhelmed, if your thoughts have ever felt too loud, if you’ve longed for stillness but didn’t know how to find it—this art is for you.

It is a reminder. A guide. A companion on your journey to your-Self.

You don’t need to force anything. You don’t have to hold it all figured out. Just let go. Just breathe. Just be.

Be kind to yourself. Every now and then, take a pause, take a moment of silence. Be still.

And in that stillness, you will find answers to everything you were searching for within yourself.

The Magic of Creative Unity (A Poem For You!)

Dedicated to the boundless spirit of creativity and the unbreakable threads that connect us all.

‘‘Nothing is born from pure logic's decree,
Everything emerges from magic, you see.
That magical force we call creativity,
Shaping our world with endless possibility.
The joy of life is the hidden art of connectivity,
So let’s express unity in infinity.’’

You Are But Another Me (One More for you!)

In each stroke, a story untold,
A brush that whispers, colors bold,
A journey not of the eye, but the soul,
Where art and heart together unfold.

The canvas speaks, not with words,
But in silence louder than heard,
A reflection of you, and of me,
In every color, we’re meant to be.

Through chaos and calm, we find the link,
Our spirits entwined, deeper than we think,
In this sacred dance, healing begins,
As we dissolve the distance within.

In this space, the self expands,
Beyond the hands, beyond the lands,
Reaching through the infinite thread,
Where thoughts dissolve, and hearts are led.

We meet in this place, so serene,
Where time dissolves and all is seen,
Where stillness blooms and light is born,
In the art, in the soul, we are reborn.

Here, you are seen, and so am I,
Together we are, you and I,
A reflection, a mirror, a truth you’ll find,
The art of our souls, intertwined.

We are one, just as we are free,
In this art, we’re finally free,
For in this space, you hold the key,
To your peace, your light, and the other me,
Who is born to truly see.
